The history of FI LED matches that of its founder, Ferdinando Ingenito, who defines during a 40 years experience, its guidelines and its philosophy. Starting as a high-school teacher in Florence, Mr. Ingenito prefers to be a sales manager so he can join his desire to become a freelancer with the desire to meet people from different countries. It happened by chance that the first businessman contacting himwas the Director of a lighting company. Since thatmoment he deeply loves research in lighting market. In 1980 MITO company was established and in few years it has been really appreciated for its decision to rely on young architects and designerswho, suddenly,would becomesomeof the best lighting designers. We are talking about designers such as Ferruccio Laviani, Gordon Guillaumier, Fabrizio Fraboni, Massimo Iosa Ghini, Terry Pecora, Enzo Berti, Tim Power, Giacomelli,whowere not so famous at that time. MITO wins several International awards like the second prize at «Salone dell'Illuminazione» in Paris and the first prize at IBD in Orlando – Florida – thanking to those young designers' creativity and inventiveness. MITO's lamps establish as fashionable ones all over theworld and themost important showroomshope to exhibit them. The inquiries for its lamps become more and more numerous and they come from very important customers. For this reason Ferdinando Ingenito decides to buy a glassery nearVenice and to settle a newmechanicalworkshop. It was in this way that Morgana was born in Preganziol. In few years this glassery is the reference point for all the lamps manufacturer which care about quality and design. The most important companies dealing with glass and lamps, both from Italy and Europe, haveMorgana as their main supplier. Ingenito is the CEO for 3 years and his partners, Paolo Crepax – glass blower known all over the world - and Silvio Zanon – experienced glass artist – take the glassery to high levels.

Several specialized magazines show MITO lamps on thei covers and MITO starts important jobs inNewYork, Tokyo, Hong Kong andMoscow. Themost important are: - The Presidential Palace in Berlin (PALACE series of lamps); - the lamp (EX LIBRIS table lamp) realized for the main French National TV channel TF1, chosen by ROLEX watch company to be shown in all its showrooms. It was just the EX LIBRIS Table lamp, designed by the Swiss architect Jean Claude Schwalberg, that has been used by some French Government Chairmen and by Sheraton Hotels in New York and Reeno. MITO lamps have also been chosen for Cathay Pacific lounge rooms in the International Airport of Hong Kong. Having so many customers in China, Ferdinando Ingenito settles his own showroom in Dalian, in the northern part of that country and he decides to live there for a long period, selling to Chinese compani es many MITO decorative lamps. In the meantime, in last years of past century, the Chinese miracle is going on, so he can cooperate with important Italian and foreign companies, supporting them when they decide to settle their own factories in China. It was due to his deep experience in the country. In a short time, thanking foreign investors in research and improvement, LEDs become a new lighting solution and Mr. Ingenito, driven by this new way of illuminating, decides to produce and assemble in Italy design lamps, using LEDs and other new lighting sources. The results are amazing and more and more customers are searching for our partnership in order to choose the best lighting solution for hotels, restaurants, public offices and residential buildings. The recent history talks about bulbs and lighting fixtures sold to Sheraton Hotel in Milan and Hilton Hotel in Athens, or the lighting fixtures installed at Baroque Art exhibition in Naples and in the new television studios of RAI TV, also in Naples. Finallywe also supplied many LED bulbs for Jewish MusueminRome. Last news are referred to the successfully exhibition at the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 where FI LED showed many new lamps with innovative technology and elegant design, receiving inquiries and interest by many visitors coming from different countries. The future is a young guy, full of good hopes, but he already talks as a leader.
